Regarded as the “chair-maker of chair-makers,” Hans J. Wegner designed more than 400 chairs during his prolific career, some of which were never produced. Wegner’s Oculus Chair (1960) takes its name from the Latin word for “eye,” in reference to the trademark eye-shaped stitching on its front. Originally made in very limited numbers, it was brought back into production in 2010 after Carl Hansen & Søn rediscovered it in the Wegner family home. Oculus is roomy enough for various lounging positions, with an enveloping seat and arms balanced on brushed stainless steel legs for visual lightness, a three-part back that supports the whole spine and a down and foam seat cushion that provides lasting comfort while maintaining its shape. Can be used with the Wing Ottoman, also from Wegner. Made in Denmark.
